Local content in government tenders: how it boosts your win rate
Price preference for national products, mandatory lists and Saudization bands — and how to leverage them in your bid.
The procurement system grants preference to national products and services and to firms with higher local content. Leveraging this can swing the evaluation in your favor.
Price preference
A price preference may apply to national products and local-content firms during evaluation, so your bid is compared on preferential terms against foreign bids.
Mandatory lists
There are mandatory lists requiring contracting with local suppliers and products. Check whether the tender’s activity falls within them.
Saudization bands
Meeting the required Saudization band is essential, and a higher band (green/platinum) strengthens your evaluation. Attach a valid Nitaqat certificate and a local-content certificate if available.
